My computer crashed a little while ago, and then I missed my chance to re-new my web domain, but now everything is back running and there have actually been some fun news items in the band. There are some new members now, in Chris and Jane. They both bring talented multi-instrumental abilities to the band and fun times as well. We've played an open mic gig at the Potion Collective Open Mic here in Bushwick as a first venture into the public realm and it went very well.

My good friend, Jason (formaly of Drive Far Fast), will be on tour with his new band, The Whitehall Bear, and we'll be putting together a show with them and Noisycrane, as well as the great Brooklyn band, U Say USA, later this month. Updates soon.

My oh my. It's been a while. Please excuse the long delay in updates, a move and OS re-install have caused a number of projects to short circuit a bit, but they are all generally grinding forward again and so shall the site.

BAND NEWS: Noisycrane is still going, working on new songs, and with a slightly altered line-up. We're also working to set up some shows, so we'll keep you posted. Cody is working on a batch of demos/basement songs in the new Fruitjelly Studios (mkIII) here in Bushwick, NY, and some of those songs should be on the site soon, as well as in an upcoming yet unnamed release.

More news to come soon, and sooner than later.

Well, it's nearly merry new year for everyone. Still chugging along here in Brooklyn, NY. We've got two Noisycrane shows coming up, one this weekend in Lexington, KY with some good friends, and then later in January at Glasslands Gallery, here in Brooklyn, NY. I've been uploading some new demos and various things and hope to get working on a somewhat proper release again sometime in the near future. Still looking for new musicians around here to build up a new project, so we'll see. More soon

10-22-09
Noisycrane is currently meshed with fellow New York act, Static Crow, headed by the wonderful Maggie Carson, and we're putting together a group of like minded musicians to flesh out the ever changing sound. Expect to hear some old Noisycrane tunes, some brand new ones, and catchy Static Crow offerings, all mixed together in a musical soup. Every show so far has been exciting and different, so come say hey and see for yourself!

Settled into NY, surrounded by tons of really nice musician artist types, set up in an old textile factory turned gentrified lofts. It's pretty good times. I've found a job but that means that I have little time now for music or dinners at normal hours. Regardless, I've got four shows coming up in NY, some in Brooklyn and some in Manhattan, and I'm pretty damned excited. Some might be solo but I'm working on putting together a band or a few people to join me. We'll see how it goes.

The cd called, "Goodbye Lexington" was finished before I left, and I plan on putting the songs up for free sometime soon once I have some time. There are about 20 - 30 tracks, I can't remember. Anyway, sometime in the future.

That's it for now. Hopefully I'll see some of you at the upcoming shows.

6-16-09
So, it's official, I am moving to Brooklyn, NY on July 20th. I'm very excited about this and hopefully it will simply mean more collaboration with new people, and in turn more and better music. I'll be sad to leave some of the fine Kentucky people behind, and hope they can visit when they get a chance, but I look forward to making new friends in NYC. There's been a new show added at Fontana's, my first confirmed NY date, ever.

In other news, I'm putting together a new grouping of songs, at this point maybe simply a collection of demos or out takes of recent, unreleased songs. I hope to have this finished before I left Lexington and available at shows. No idea about the title or artwork or anything

So, hopefully I'll still be able to catch some of you at the few remaining lexington shows, and then in New York.

After a series of recent infections with malware the noisycrane site is clean and back online. to celebrate, so to speak, I've decided to begin updating it since I figure it could use a new look after all this time anyway. So, please stick with me while I update it gradually over the next few days.

The record release show went wonderfully, and I'm so thankful to everyone who had art in the show, played, spun records, or just hung out and helped make the night awesome. I'm not sure what's coming next, but I'm sure it'll be interesting. As of now I'm putting together a collection of demos and other unreleased tracks recorded throughout the winter. I've posted a new track called, "50s - version 2". I hope you enjoy.

1-12-09
Recording went really well in Louisville and we're working on finishing it up here in Lexington. Basically all we have left are vocals, a few trumpets and hopefully a mini-choir. After that the mixing will be finished and the artwork and music will be sent off to be pressed. I'll keep you updated.

11-30-08
I'm getting pretty excited about our upcoming recording. We'll be going to Louisville, KY in late December to record with Kevin Ratterman at the Funeral Home Studio, where plenty of amazing bands have recorded amazing sounding things. We'll be doing the first half of recording all live, so hopefully the energy of playing a show or practice will bleed through. More on that soon.

09-26-08
It's my birthday today and so I figured I'd post an update or something. I'm sorta trying to put some song ideas together for our next recording, which might be a semi official EP type deal or another full-length, I'm not sure yet. The Bleed Blood Red Vinyl is out and all that and it sounds awesome. You can either order it from the labels site, or contact us and we can get something going. I'll make a direct order thing when I get the energy.

fruit-jelly records is making awesome headway, got four or five new artists. Check out
myspace.com/fruitjellyrecords for updates and new songs.

Well, we just got back from Popfest two days ago and had a great time. It was my first time to Athens and I really enjoyed the city as well as the people. We got the chance to see some amazing bands play and eat some tasty food at The Grit and The Grill. We played at the Flicker bar along with two great bands, The Umbrella Tree and Gospel Gossip. You can read a nice review of the show by Alexander Dimitropoulos, care of Athens Exchange if you click here.

In other news, the "Bleed Blood Red" vinyl should in fact be out very soon on ForSkinnySteve records. It's at this time very likely being molded into vinyl from a metal stamper. I can't give a specific time for release but it should be near the end of August or very early September.
~update~ release date: 9-2-08

I guess it's been a while since an update here. We've completed and "released" our second full-length, "Limestone Walls & Frozen Falls" which is available through the site, at shows, or at the local record store, CD Central. It's only $7. In other news, I've been working on some new songs, and they're coming along interestingly. We're working through weird schedules and all that, but will have a big cram session of practicing before Popfest in mid-August, so that'll be fun. There's a possible single release coming on the way for "Bleed Blood Red" off LWFF and I"ll keep you updated on that if it materializes. More later.

For some reason the "buy now" button didn't work in the shoppe for the Portmanteau CD. It's now fixed so if anyone couldn't buy it before it shouldn't be a problem now. cody@noisycrane.com if you have problems.

NEW CD COMING:
We've been putting together songs for a new CD to be recorded (hopefully) in the next month or two. I'll post some updates and info soon.

11-14-07
Hello there. We just got done playing what we think was our best show to date at the Dame here in Lexington with Casper and the Cookies and half of the Poison Control Center. I've been told I'll get an email with some pictures which will be nice. We also just put out a demo CD, basically 5 or so new songs that I recorded while bored a week or so ago. They sound different with the full band but it's kind of fun in-between more official releases. The CD is $1 or free with another purchase.

10-28-07
Well, friends, we currently have no shows lined up but that doesn't mean we don't still enjoy playing music. That being said, I'm sure that plans are forming for new songs and new shows. Song and shows. And that being said I guess this news is pointless but at least you now know we're still riding the music train if not momentarily delayed at a station looking for a payphone.

10-08-07
The Portmanteau release show went well and we all had a fun time. The band swelled close to 10 people by the time it was done thanks to our friends who kindly stepped in to fill the holes in the tracks. We've added a new show coming up on the 22nd with Bedtime and The Gunshy (Chicago) in Ashland, KY. We'll be debuting some new songs so it should be a good time.

09-12-07
Slight page update. Now navigation type thing on left and pages load here, on the er... right. And then there's that bit at the bottom with a myspace page link.

-New demo and release show info
I've put up a new demo called, "Decay (song with banjo)" that just kind of came together by chance. Hopefully it'll become part of the live show soon.

Almost there, updates soon.

Full-length Record Finished!

Record Preview

05-13-07
The drum tracks are all done! :) We had to start from scratch on some of the tracks (My attempts to stay on tempo were not all decent) but once we re-record the guitar and vocal tracks for those songs we'll have everything we need to build it up; add: bass, banjo, electric guitar, melodica, trumpet, xylophone, etc. I'm very excited and relieved.

04-15-07
I hope everyone had a nice holiday. We've added two new members to the band, Austin and Jacob. They're both wonderful people, and sadly Jacob will be leaving to move to New York city very soon, but not until he helps with the record...

That's right! We've finally begun recording the very first Noisycrane LP type thing. It's going to be 10 tracks and hopefully really cool. You can get new info here. We've got all the basic guitar and vocal tracks done, now we've just got to build upwards.

03-22-07
Once again, long time no update. Of course, who knows how many people actually read this. Anyways, Sean and I are preparing for some shows coming up as well as an album. I know I had hoped to begin recording more than a month ago, but dammit, school takes up a lot of time. Basically we're getting together old songs and writing new ones and we're smashing them together to see if they fit well in a record form. If that works out hopefully sometime soon we'll start recording. I'll post updates on that if/when it happens.

I guess that's all for now.

01-26-07
Haven't updated in a while I guess… There are lots of new pictures up and mp3s from a live show in Louisville. Sean Rose has been in the band since early December, 2006 and we've since played... 5 shows in Lexington and one in Louisville. We're hoping to start recording a full length sometime in mid February if we're not too terribly busy.

Also, my friend Matt was kind enough to do a review of one of our lexington shows on his blog, You Ain't No Picasso.

12-05-06
Brand new front page/layout.

10-24-06
I've been working on the site some. Also, I finally switched the myspace page over to www.myspace.com/noisycrane. I've lost a lot of "friends" and total song play count because of it, but that's life. ;)

In other and cooler news, I've begun playing more shows in Lexington, which is very exciting. I'm also working on some new songs that I'm really excited about. Some of them are more full and multi instrumented than I've ever tried, so it's a challenge but I think I'll get some great songs out of it.

9-25-06

I'm working on mixing some new songs off of four tapes I've called "idea tapes 1,2,3 and 4" I hope too upload some of these songs soon. I should be sleeping or doing homework right now. It's 3:03am. I've also added a few drawings or pictures from friends and myself.

8-23-06
The Boy Named Crow recently finished recording our EP in my currently un-named home studio. It sounds awesome and I'll post a song or two soon. I'm not sure yet if the record will be for sale or not, I guess it depends on if we play any more shows. Either way, it sounds great and I can't wait for everyone to hear it.

7-14-06
Three new songs from a summer recording test are up on the new music page.

7-06-06
Updated the drawings section... There's a Chunky Pineapple drawing.

7-01-06
I'm finally going into the "studio" to begin recording. If you know me I'm sure you've heard me complain about it, but I've been having a lot of problems with equipment and I still am in fact. I'll try to post updates or rough new songs on here, so today I'm off to re-record the Kite EP. Here's hoping.

6-23-06
Brand new noisycrane.com site up and running. Updates coming soon.
